endgame plotting.

So now that you've read the gdoc and have an idea of what is presently planned for endgame, it's likely you have ideas and plotting you'd like to do -- we'd recommend putting proposals for player plots down below, as well as detailing your character's abilities and what they can do for endgame or what you'd like them to do for endgame. We recommend being as thorough as you can be when discussing this, and keeping an open communication line with your fellow players; this will help make endgame as smooth as possible as well as ensure that you get to participate as much as you want.

This is the post where we'd like you all to communicate and plot together -- revived players, surviving players, and players coming in as Nuwa-goers, this post is for you to get together and discuss everything you'd like to do. If you have a player plot, please top level with it and discuss it with the game. Feel free to top level about anything. For right now, we have some things to hopefully help everyone's creative juices get flowing, but treat this as a sign up post, too. If you see a player plot you want in on, respond! Talk! See where things can go! This is your time to shine, and the characters' time to impact the game; none of this is possible with you. You guys have shown us that you're amazingly creative and deserve to run the show here, so please, take it and run with it.

Tears (from the Bioshock Wiki)
Elizabeth is gifted (or cursed) with the ability to manipulate Tears, contingencies within the space-time continuum that show possible scenarios which, if tampered with, can enact themselves within Columbia or any universe in particular. Elizabeth is the only person known to be capable of controlling these Tears naturally, and can exploit them to summon objects such as weapons, ammunition or parts of the scenery, as well as living beings. She can also use these Tears to travel through time and space and so is able to transport herself and Booker to other time periods and realities. Another use for the Tears is to merge different realities together, though doing this is stressful. However, her control over her powers is limited by a long distance restraining device called the Siphon, preventing her from transporting herself out of Columbia.

I'm going to say that being powered (and possibly amplified by Yuno), she has better control with her tears than from her original canonpoint - this allows her to have more control on the destination than early canon point Elizabeth.

YUNO "god is a girl, she's only a girl, do you believe it, can you receive it" GASAI

[personal profile] bloodteller 2016-09-03 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
so! yuno has made reference to her powers a fair amount now, and i think some people on the ship are aware of the fact she's not just a god but the god. she has domain over time and space and rules over cause and effect, so. she's incredibly op. she is capable of creating worlds and destroying them, and has several other abilities that i don't... really want to use in game due to how game breaky they would be, ha.

that said i do not want her to have any kind of limelight! yuno will be acting as support for the anyone who asks! she doesn't trust entirely in her own god-like abilities but she trusts others to do the work for her. this is probably manipulative. she's not sorry.

as such if you would like yuno to amplify your character's powers, please let me know. she will be working to make sure people who ask her for help are amped up around 20 to 40%, and this will extend to physical and mental abilities, if you would like it to.

yuno is also capable of recreating things for people, i would like it if this is used mainly for healing. if your character is severely injured or even just slightly injured and you would like yuno to give them a body part back (as an example, i thiiiiink yuno is recreating adrien's arm for him!) or heal a wound for them, let me know! we can plot it out. i'd really love to use her as support for anyone who wants it, so just contact me and we'll hash it out.

dave has time powers which we spent some of a trial talking about. if he's not nerfed, he's capable of changing shit by virtue of dead daves and time loops but would prefer to keep those to a minimum even though he's pretty sure he'll be one of them eventually. if you need time powers, lmk. i have nothing i really have in mind to do.

Magic

Okay, so unnerfed Dorian can do a lot of vaguely defined shit, since the combat he does in the game is far from the extent of his abilities. He can do a lot more fucked up necromancy stuff, he can cast spells using fire/electricity/ice/spirit stuff much more easily, he has some minor time manipulation (basically a slow-down time spell that lasts briefly in a small area) basically that kind of thing?

Aside from being useful combat abilities, he's pretty good at the theoretical aspects of magic. For example, helped invent time magic in his world, and although he doesn't have the power to use it himself, he has the power to manipulate a spell someone else has cast if he can figure it out. I figure this aspect of his abilities could be used to handle some of the strategic angles of stuff other people are going to do, maybe? Otherwise I'm happy to just have him fight!

Adam has his scrying! He can basically communicate with different planes of reality which might be like talking to the dead, accessing areas he's not physically in—this can include minds too. This might be able to work for nightmare cradles as a way for Adam to be there without actually physically being there since he won't fight.

And if he does use his scrying, he'd ask someone to watch him so he doesn't die. But we can also let Adam die that's fine.

okay so for all intents and purposes the morphogenetic field is just some kind of. bullshit telepathy. there's more to it i just hate it and i hate my canon but the point is: in theory, clover should only be able to send messages to other espers, specifically light; in practice zero escape is just constantly screwing around with how the morphogenetic field works so i can justify some flexibility under the basis of being amped up by yuno if anyone wants to get any telepathy stuff done... it's probably pretty much one-way though i can't quite bullshit THAT hard

more importantly i'm using this space to petition for clover to steer the ship because the best scene in the entirety of 999 is definitely the one where she's driving an SUV and TEARING DOWN THE DESERT AT TOP SPEED WHILE HER FRIENDS COWER IN THE BACK. driving vehicles too fucking fast is her most important ability, she's going warp fuckin speed

WELL without his powers nerfed Luke is super-good for a couple of things. First of all, this asshole can teleport. It's very vague how this is done seeing how it happens after he cuts a slash through the air and then just...shimmers away...but it's close enough to teleportation you can get!

He also has heightened senses of persuasion and the ability to automatically sense traps, monsters, non-mortals, etc. What this means is that he can basically get anyone to do anything and also he'll be able to sense where drones/traps/etc are.

Additionally he's still able to steal anything without notice and his ability to break locks will be unlocked so he can do it more than once. Overall he's not that useful but it's something. The persuasion thing might help with nightmare cradles maybe? TADA.

Judar is considered ridiculously OP in canon, so no surprise he's packing some pretty damn powerful spells...most of which he can't use because they would blow the ship apart HA HA SUCKS TO BE YOU ASSHOLE. But in general, he can work with most elements and combine them, though he's not great with healing spells. He can also support anyone using magic by giving a boost to whatever element they're using.

He's also got three spells in particular that might come in handy! He can teleport something (not necessarily himself) long distance - like around a continent's worth - though this will drain him a lot. He has bullshit telepathy, which lets him broadcast images or speech into people's heads and can show them shit going down in different areas. And he has an isolation barrier, which creates a barrier around a large area that will fully nerf anything magic or supernatural within, including himself.

OK SO without nerfs Grell gets a few things back:

-strength/speed/agility! she's now strong enough to pull off very crazy things like throw That Door one handed and pick up five children at once and keep up with the best of them and basically have the capacity of a demon, so if you need someone strong and fast at your back or to defend your front, she's there for you. she's pretty much a monster with things restored and will be taking full advantage.

-endurance/healing factor! with this back up to speed, not only can Grell endure blows that would kill a normal human and shrug most of it off, she also becomes exceptionally hard to kill. canonly it's stated that you cannot beat a reaper to death, and outside of instantly fatal things like decapitation and such, she will power through a hell of a lot. this is also due to an advanced healing factor where her wounds get fixed at an accelerated rate, so she's more inclined to ignore her own injuries in the interest of protecting others without it.

-Cinematic Record! this has been briefly mentioned but now that it's back at a functioning capacity, it can work in full in the game. basically that fancy chainsaw Grell calls a scythe has a hidden power she only hinted at, as it was restricted to working solely in the case of fatal injuries in game and anyway we didn't exactly have the medical capacity to deal with chainsaw injuries.
C/P from my info page: "If someone is cut with the scythe, their memories will play out like on a film reel. This means that Grell, the person affected, and any other people around with spiritual sensitivity are able to see it. The specific memories witnessed are related to the degree of injury; the worse damage, the farther back it can go. Likewise, if the cut is very shallow and non-life-threatening, then less than a year's worth of memories are all that appear."
in game, I'm more than willing to bend things and say anyone can witness the memories extracted by the scythe, if this comes up. if somehow you'd like to work this into a plot, let me know - whether it be extracting memories to convince someone that this is all illusion or simply an attempt for more Suffering, I'd love to make your dreams come true.
